Corrections and Redo Opportunities ...
Every assignment, project, or quiz grade can be improved upon if a student does poorly on it. When the paper comes back with an unacceptable grade (any grade lower than a family’s expectations), the student should talk with me BEFORE OR AFTER class to find out how to correct, or redo that particular assignment/quiz for more credit. (No student will receive more points without previously discussing the original assignment/quiz/project with Mrs. Myroth!)

Quizzes and Tests ...
For Health Class ... At the beginning of most units, students will take a PreQuiz/PreTest in class. We will correct it in class that day, and the student will fill in all correct answers at that time using a red pen. That PreQuiz/PreTest, then, is the student’s study guide for the quiz or test at the end of the unit (2-4 weeks later). Students can begin studying for the quiz/test immediately, if they so choose. If the student fails to keep his/her PreQuiz/PreTest, he/she will not have a study guide for the quiz/test at the end of the unit.
I will do the best I can to return all graded quizzes and tests within one week.
For Science Class ... There will be a study guide provided days before the tests. We will review in class for the tests, but it is up to the individual student to determine what he/she needs to hit hard at home.

7th Grade Late Paper Policy .....Students will be given 2 “free lates” each quarter for homework each quarter. As long as the assignments are turned in by the end of the current unit of study, the student can receive full credit on those assignments. After that date, assignments will be given zeroes in the gradebook. After the second late assignment each quarter, students will be given only half credit on it, as long as it is turned in by the end of the current unit. Long-term projects/assignments will be taken as 10% off per day late through the end of the unit.
Extra Credit Opportunities for Health AND Science Classes ..
Students can earn 5 points extra credit every week, if they so choose. To do that, a student needs to find a current HEALTH (or SCIENCE) -related newspaper or magazine article (at least 10 sentences long). Read it and write a 5 SENTENCE SUMMARY of the article, then give it to Mrs. Myroth to check over. Once she has, she will return it to you to read that summary to the class.
